Wild Rift patch 2.2 will see lots of exciting additions to the MOBA. The game's biggest patch so far will feature new champions, exciting skins, events, item changes, gameplay updates, lots more.
Wild Rift's Product Manager, Jane "DjangoUnjaned" Chen, gave a sneak peek into all the features from the new patch that will arrive in Wild Rift in the next couple of months.
Wild Rift patch 2.2 preview
Wild Welcome for the Americans
After a prolonged wait, Wild Rift's open beta will finally launch for the American region on March 29th. Riot Games has assured American players of providing them with multiple exclusive events as compensation and reward for the unfortunate delay.
Thus, the publisher is introducing a special, limited-time event called "Wild Welcome" exclusively for the American region to catch up with the rest of the world.
Wild Welcome will offer players in this particular region a bunch of bonuses, blue motes, champions, XP, and content from previous events for a limited time.
Existing League of Legends PC players will also receive rewards for their time and investment in the game. The better the PC profile, the better the Wild Rift prizes.
Arabic Support
Riot confirmed that it would introduce Arabic in-game support in Wild Rift very soon. It has taken some time for the developer to get it ready as they have configured and adjusted the game's UI layout completely.
The devs think that the fresh layout will help Middle East players feel more at home when navigating around the game.
New champions
At the start of the new season, Riot devs hinted that they wouldn't go through the hassle of pushing random champions into the game all at once. Instead, they will introduce champions who can expand more on the Wild Rift gameplay and the thematics that the game is currently missing.
Since there are many existing humanoid champions in Wild Rift, Riot plans to add five monstrous champions.

Masters of the Hunt event
With the launch of the Masters of the Hunt event in April, Wild Rift players will be thrown into the ancient rivalry between Kha'Zix and Rengar. The deadly battles in the event would help them determine the predator and the prey.
Riot will also introduce a new gameplay system exclusively for the Masters of the Hunt event. More details about the event will follow soon.
New items and gameplay updates
Wild Rift patch 2.2 will bring in a few new items and tweaks to the game. The item icons will also be refreshed to match closely with the ones on League of Legends PC.
Riot will be adding Frozen Heart, Force of Nature, and Sunfire Aegis to help flesh out the item pool for tank players. Sapphire Crystal will have the Mana Charge passive on it so that a player can stack earlier and evolve the Tear of the Goddess items sooner.
Sheen will no longer build out of Sapphire Crystal, making it a more accessible choice to non-mana users.
The devs have confirmed that the summoner spell, Ghost, will be updated as well, as there wasn't a lot of use of it in the game. It will be stronger than before and more fun to use, like in League of Legends PC.
Lastly, Riot will also change the way champions play with higher attack speed to help the duo laners.
Quality of life features
The devs will be adding some quality features in Wild Rift to make the gaming experience better. New pings like "Enemy missing" and "Enemy has vision here" will be introduced, along with few other advanced in-game customizations.
Players will be able to tune the dead zones on their ability buttons. The bigger the dead zone, the harder it is to accidentally aim when tapping abilities.
Riot will also be adding more clarity when neutral objectives spawn on the minimap. Adding on to these, gamers will have the option to hide player names in-game.
Position preference
Riot will soon be running a short test for a new Wild Rift feature called "Position Preference." Through this, a player can choose his/her playstyle, which will help them during matchmaking.
New skins featuring the Stargazers
Patch 2.2 will introduce the premiere "First-to-Wild-Rift" skinline called Stargazer, described by Riot as:
"The Stargazers are godlike archivists who can see and influence fate by studying the stars."
The Stargazer roster will be joined by Camille, Twisted Fate, and Soraka. Riot will also be running a small in-game event to celebrate the launch of the new skinline.
Five additional thematic Wild Rift skins will be added to the game as well. They are,
- God-King Darius
- Blood Moon Kennen
- Corgi Corki
- Draven Draven
- Scorched Earth Renekton
Wild Pass
Later in the patch, Riot will be introducing the Wild Pass, which is a way for the Wild Rift players to get rewarded just for playing. With the pass, the players will earn rewards in the form of skins, icons, emotes, baubles, and other goodies for leveling up.
They can also update their Wild Pass at any point to claim the content they have earned so far. There will also be a Wild Pass Elite, which will come with some extra missions and XP to speed up progress.
Reaching level 50 on the Wild Pass will grant an exclusive Hexplorer Jax skin for players to show off their progress in Wild Rift.
