WWE 2K15: Preview

wwe 2k15 preview
WWE 2K15 will be released on the 28th of October for PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360

This is a month which every hardcore wrestling fan has been looking forward to. WWE 2K15 is all set to hit the stores, and by whatever information that’s been let known to us, we can be pretty certain that we are going to fall in love with the game. This will be the second game as part of the WWE 2K series and it will be releasing for PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. While the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be released on the 28th of October in North America, the release for the Xbox One and PS4 versions were postponed to the 18th of November.

You will get a feel of playing a true wrestling game because of the realistic effect that it will be providing you instead of a fighting game. Right at the beginning of the match, the superstar can grapple his opponent and immediately put him or her into a side headlock, a wrist lock or a waist lock and at that time both players will be fresh and the one who finds the sweetspot to attack has the chance to take first control of the match. This is what is called as the mini game and it can be performed only twice or thrice in a match just like how it happens in the real world. Users do have an option to turn this completely off if they don't find it appealing.

One thing that really annoyed us a lot in the previous games was how the superstars used to stand up immediately after getting slammed initially. The makers have taken note of it and have decided to change that. So in 2K15, if you are getting slammed, you are not going to get up immediately. You need to use the right analog stick repeatedly in order to get up slowly.

There is a three tier stamina system that’s in place this time. The pace of the match will be controlled by it as you will start draining yourself with each move that you make or take. Running especially takes a toll on your stamina meter and that’s why during the first tier, you will be at your best and will be able to perform moves pretty easily. The second tier will make it harder and the third tier will completely take you down if you let the meter go too low because at that stage you won’t even be able to perform your finisher. Like in the previous editions, you won’t be able to turn the meter off, so manage yourself carefully in order to give yourself the best chance of winning.

You can now store your signature moves and the superstars will behave like how they are in real life. People like the Big show won’t be on top of the turnbuckles and superstars like Rey Mysterio won’t be performing power moves.

On what to expect

You can relive the great HBK-HHH rivalry

So what can one expect in this game this time around? What if I tell you that you can actually relive the great rivalry between real life best friends Shawn Michaels and Triple H? Like you see in the above picture, you can actually play the great clash these two legends had at Summerslam in 2002 and the other great matches they had during that period. Not only that, you also have the rivalry between CM Punk and John Cena in it which was popular in 2011. In total there will be 33 matches as part of the series.

For the first time since 2K took over, the game will have a career mode similar to the one that NBA has. Speaking of NBA, which also has the same makers, WWE 2K15 will use the same head scanning technology that’s been used in the popular Basketball game. It will also be using advanced lighting effects which will be enhancing the clarity of many wrestlers in the game. And for the very first time ever in the history of the WWE games, the legendary wrestler Sting will appear. There has been numerous speculations that he would finally be making his debut in the WWE, but whether that happens or not, is a discussion for some other day. For now, we can confirm his presence and he will be appearing as the mysterious, ghost-like persona with trademark black-and-white face paint and also in an another look bright where he will be sporting bright colors and a blond, flattop hairstyle. You can either customize the existing superstars or create a new one and reach numerous heights in the career mode.

So we have plenty to look forward to in WWE 2K15 and let’s hope it lives to up to the hype when it finally gets released.
