Silverstone will be hosting the 2013 Young Driver Test from July 17th up to 19th.

Last year, the Young Driver test took place immediately after the British Grand Prix. Young drivers of Williams, Marussia and HRT remained at the tracks for almost two days during the test.

This year, the back-to-back races will feature the British Grand Prix initially, followed by the German Grand Prix. Given the arrangement, the test will have to be postponed till after the race at the Nurburgring.

The list of teams taking part in this year’s test is still speculated on. Last year, in addition to the tests at Silverstone, Ferrari, Mercedes and Force India ran a test at Magny-Cours in September, while the rest of the teams carried on a trial at the Yas Marina circuit, once the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was out of the way.

Silverstone has confirmed via Twitter that the tests will take place before the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix, and will last for three days from July 17-19.

The Young Driver Test is proposed to be taken off the regulations in order to make way for an in-season testing which will take place on four separate occasions, once a European Grand Prix is done with.
