McLaren's Lando Norris has dismissed Fernando Alonso's "silly" claims that McLaren is "overconfident" about catching Aston Martin in the race for Formula One's Constructors title.

McLaren is currently ahead of Aston Martin in the Constructors standings. After securing a double podium at Suzuka, Norris has stated that he "definitely" believed that McLaren could catch Aston Martin in the Constructors standings.

During the press conference ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix, Alonso also stated that McLaren has been "quite fast" but they seem "overconfident."

When Lando Norris was asked about Alonso's previous comment, he clapped back at the Spanish driver and stated:

"Unless his maths is deteriorating, which it definitely isn't ... Fernando is just Fernando – he's always going to say things. He always makes himself look very good or makes other people look bad. He's very good at that."

This clapback from Lando Norris has left the fans speechless. Fans flooded the comments section with their best reactions and replies.

With only six more races left in the 2023 season, McLaren appears to be improving their performance. It is not impossible to think that they would overtake Aston Martin in the Constructors' standing by the end of the season.
