The 2019 Spanish Grand Prix was aced by none other than Lewis Hamilton, who has now won the contest on a record four separate occasions, the most by any driver forming the current grid.

But apart from the familiar speed and all his daring and guile, the 2018 world champion had another motivation to win the race. Lewis Hamilton wanted to bring a smile on his young fan Harry Shaw's face.

Harry had been terminally ill and it was being felt that the young English boy would not live on for long. Now, unfortunately, the worst fears regarding the 5-year-old's life have been realized.

One of Lewis Hamilton's biggest fans, Harry Shaw passed away a few hours back. Suffering from terminal cancer, Harry Shaw was not even 6.

A post shared on popular platform JustGiving had shared that Harry was fighting a battle for life since the last 10 months. The youngster, according to the revered BBC, had moved back to his home in the last months of his life.

That told, Lewis, who called the young boy his "spirit angel" even dedicated his Spanish Grand Prix victory to him. The association between Hamilton, young Harry, and the Mercedes F1 team was special and sweet beyond measure.

In a mark of respect and compassion, the Mercedes team had even sent Hamilton's F1 car to Harry's home after the Spanish Grand Prix. The brave young boy who didn't lose heart despite suffering from a terminal diease had shared the following message for his racing idol, Lewis Hamilton:

"Hello Lewis Hamilton. Good luck winning the race in Spain and thank you for the gifts. Lots of love from Harry and goodbye."

All of that said, in this horrible loss for the departed soul's family, a thing stands out; that F1 drivers aren't merely there as super-stars or athletes who boast of gigantic egoes. There's a lot more to them than meets the eye.

RIP Harry!
