The F1 penalty points system and the conversation around it have been on the backburner for a while now. It had become the center of attention for many when Max Verstappen had ended up accumulating as many as 11 penalty points.
The Dutch driver has since had two points expire, which keeps him at a safer, though still striking, distance from the threshold of 12 F1 penalty points. The penalty points system was introduced in 2014 with the aim of having a standardized system in place to regulate the drivers.
We've had only one driver pick up a ban due to this system, and it was Kevin Magnussen who ended up hitting the 12-point threshold. With that being said, as we move on from the F1 Hungarian GP, where do the drivers stand on the penalty points? Let's take a look.
