This time last year, Fernando Alonso represented McLaren but on a different track across the pond.

The Spaniard sacrificed his seat for the 2017 Monaco Grand Prix so he could pursue his dream to win the Indy 500 in Indianapolis, USA.

However, Alonso's Honda engine blew up during the Indy 500 and failed to even finish the race.

Jenson Button raced alongside Stoffel Vandoorne last year in Monaco.

Alonso maybe racing in Monte Carlo this year but he has hinted he will race at the Indy 500 again in 2019.

Despite McLaren not having another winning car this year, Alonso has brought home good results for the team so far in 2018.

The 36 year old has scored points in every race so far this season and as he is a two time winner in the streets of Monte Carlo, the experience will surely help him achieve another points finish come Sunday.
