Pastor Maldonado has expressed that he is still in pain from his crash that brought out the red flags in the Monaco Grand Prix.

The race was abruptly halted while it was on lap 46 last Sunday, when Maldonado suffered a 9g impact, following dual collisions. He first collided with Max Chilton’s Marussia which sent him crashing into the barriers at Tabac.

Even though the crash damaged the barriers, a fortunate Maldonado was able to walk away with just minor bruises.

While speaking on this week’s episode of The Racer’s Edge, Maldonado admitted that he is still hurting from the effect of the crash, but doesn’t expect career threatening damages.

“My body still hurts but it’s not a problem,” said the Williams driver. “As soon as I knew I was OK, I was thinking already of Montreal.”

The only permanent damage was on Maldonado’s chassis, which cannot be repaired in time to be shipped out for next weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix.

The Briton driver Chilton gave an apology after receiving a drive-through penalty for his part in the incident.
