Red Bull Racing keen on carrying the momentum ahead

Canadian F1 Grand Prix - Race

Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner is happy with the way things have gone in Montreal and is hoping to carry forward the momentum ahead.

Triple world champion Sebastian Vettel tasted his first success at the circuit Gilles- Villeneuve in Montreal after claiming the pole position for the third time this season. Vettel’s Australian team mate, Mark Webber had also done a pretty decent job for the Red Bull Racing securing 4th spot after starting the race from 5th grid.

Horner is optimistic about his team’s chances in Silverstone after a commending performance from both his drivers in the Canadian GP. He also said that they had exploited the high speed tracks this season and are hoping to do the same in the upcoming races.

“I think that obviously set-up wise we made some progress here, and we hope that that will continue into the Silverstone weekend,” Horner told Autosport. “Malaysia also had very quick corners and we were strong there, so I think we have understood some of the issues we have had in Barcelona, and hopefully we can carry this form into the next few races.”

“It has been a strong performance here like it was in Bahrain, and like it was in Malaysia,” he said. “We see with these tyres that once you are in window with them, then you can extract a lot of lap time.”

Red Bulls have so far dominated the season with 201 points in their kitty. They are 56 ahead of their main rival Ferrari.

Meanwhile, Vettel is leading the driver’s pack with 132 points, 36 ahead of his arch rival Fernando Alonso. Kimi Raikkonen holds the third spot with 88 points. Mark Webber sits at 5th spot with 69 points, 8 behind Lewis Hamliton and 12 ahead of Mercedes driver Nico Roseberg.

With Vettel on his way to his 4th World Championship and Alonso trying to fight back, it will be a cracker of a season ahead for the F1 fans.
