Kimi Raikkonen took a stunning pole ahead of teammate Sebastian Vettel in Ferrari's home race in style. The lap set by Kimi was the fastest lap in the history of Formula One and also the Finn beat Nigel Mansell's record of the oldest pole sitter in F1.
The final part of the Qualifying saw Lewis Hamilton break the record for fastest lap at Monza, which was immediately beaten by the Vettel. Raikkonen pulled off a stunner in the third sector of the lap to blow the previous set record to enter the history books. Raikkonen also holds the record for the most fastest laps among current drivers.
This also made him the first Ferrari driver to take pole at Monza after Fernando Alonso in 2010.
