Hakan Calhanoglu made one of the most controversial transfers in recent history this summer as he made the move from AC Milan to Inter Milan on a free transfer.

He was in the starting lineup for his new side in their Serie A opener against Genoa and the Turkey international had a dream start.

Calhanoglu set up Inter's opener after just six minutes. The midfielder swung in a delicious corner and Milan Škriniar rose highest to head home.

He then turned from provider to goalscorer eight minutes later as he opened his account for Inter in style. The Nerazzurri produced a lovely passage of play which ended in the 27-year-old smashing the ball past Salvatore Sirigu from long range.

With that strike, Calhanoglu became the first player to score and assist on his Inter debut since Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2006.

#5 Edin Dzeko - Inter Milan

Calhanoglu was not the only one to do that during the match, with Inter's new striker Edin Dzeko also scoring and assisting in the same game against Genoa.

The Bosnian striker had set-up Calhanoglu's first-half goal to make it 2-0 for Inter. The 35-year-old then scored his debut goal with a trademark soaring header from just inside the box after an excellent ball from Arturo Vidal.

Apart from that the Bosnian was his usual assured self, with his strong ability to hold the ball up front helping Inter in building their attacks.

Inter lost Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea in the summer and replaced him with Dzeko. While he might not be as effective as Lukaku, Dzeko has shown that he is more than capable of filling up the Belgian's boots.

#4 Cristiano Ronaldo - Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo surprised everyone when he announced a return to Manchester United in the final week of the transfer window. The Portuguese superstar decided to leave Juventus after three years in Turin and subsequently returned to the Premier League.

Fans had to wait a while to see Ronaldo's debut due to the international break but the 36-year-old certainly did not disappoint. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored a brace in the Red Devils' 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo took just about 45 minutes to find the back of the net in his first game for the Red Devils in over 12 years. The forward took advantage of Freddie Woodman's failure to keep hold of Mason Greenwood's shot and tapped in from a few yards out.

Then in the second half, Ronaldo struck again to put United back in front after Javier Manquillo had equalized in stylish fashion for the visitors.

This time, it was a strike of pure quality/ After reminding the world he's still absolutely rapid, Ronaldo collected a perfect pass from Luke Shaw and then fired the ball into the net, nutmegging a hapless Woodman in the process.

It was a classic Ronaldo display at Old Trafford that day as United ran out 4-1 winners against Newcastle.
