#3 Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

Bruno Fernandes' impact at Manchester United since he joined in January 2020 has been tremendous. He has been the Red Devils' best player over the past year and a half and has been able to provide the kind of creative spark that they had been lacking for years.

Bruno has also helped bring the best out of Paul Pogba. The duo have played a big role in Manchester United finishing second in the Premier League table and reaching the final of the UEFA Europa League.

Bruno Fernandes is arguably the best midfielder in the Premier League right now and his goalscoring and playmaking skills are at par with some of the best players in the world. The 26-year-old scored 28 goals and provided 17 assists in 58 matches across all competitions this season.

#2 Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)

Joshua Kimmich is arguably the most versatile midfielder on the planet. He can play in a variety of roles across the midfield and can also do a fantastic job everywhere. He can play as a full-back or even as a number ten.

Kimmich's passing range, technical finesse on the ball and ability to break up play make him a complete midfielder. He thrives in a holding role where he can destroy the opposition's attacks, recover possession and kick-start counter-attacks.

The 26-year-old has been a cut above the rest when it comes to dictating the pace of the game and being a dominant presence at the heart of the pitch. He scored six goals and provided 14 assists across all competitions for Bayern Munich this past season while playing predominantly in a holding role.

#1 Ngolo Kante (Chelsea)

Credit where credit's due. Without N'Golo Kante, it would have been really difficult for Chelsea to win the Champions League. The relentless Frenchman's tactical intelligence and ability to run rings around his opposition makes him an asset like no other.

Kante's workrate often overshadows his technical skills. In addition to being excellent in a defensive sense, the 30-year-old is also an outstanding passer of the ball. It is also extremely difficult to shake him off the ball and Kante plays a huge role in kickstarting Chelsea's counter-attacks.

Big games are often decided by how much control a team can exert in midfield. Kante's ability to pop up in the right place at the right time does not happen by chance. He does the work of two players and when the diminutive midfielder is on the pitch, opposition players struggle to play their natural game.

He produced several man-of-the-match performances in the knockout stages of the Champions League, including both legs of the semi-final and the final. It is difficult to find a player who has had as much impact on a consistent basis on the biggest stage and that's why he tops the list.
