#2 Max Allegri

Could Max Allegri bring Juventus-like success to Arsenal?

Former Juventus boss Max Allegri was linked with plenty of jobs in the summer; Manchester United and Real Madrid were just two of Europe’s superclubs apparently interested in the Italian, but as of the time of writing, he remains on the market. That’s a huge surprise given the kind of reputation he brings, so could Arsenal be the next destination for him?

A move for Allegri would definitely make sense. There are few managers currently operating in the game with the kind of record that he brings; Allegri took over Juventus in 2014 and was able to win four domestic doubles between 2015 and 2018, as well as taking the Old Lady to two Champions League finals. His win percentage of 70.4% is unmatched in the history of Juventus.

But Allegri isn’t simply defined by his wins at Juve, where admittedly he was able to wield more financial muscle than any other club in Serie A. He’s also a fantastic tactician capable of turning the momentum of a game in a heartbeat – as we saw when his Juve side turned around their Champions League tie with Arsenal’s great rivals Tottenham in 2018 following two substitutions from Allegri.

With the Bayern Munich job suddenly up for grabs, if Arsenal want to secure the services of Allegri they’d probably be best to make a move sooner rather than later.
