The former Schalke 04 forward was signed by Manchester City in 2016 for €37 million. His first two seasons under Pep Guardiola were amazing. Leroy Sane was voted as the PFA Young Player of the Year after helping the Cityzens to claim the Premier League title and the EFL Cup in the 2017-18 campaign.

However, his third season at the Etihad Stadium was tough as he had to compete with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez for the starting spot. His omission from Joachim Low’s World Cup squad was related to his poor performances in the national team which can be linked to his inability to secure a starting spot in the Premier League.

Sterling’s brilliant performances this season might also be a disadvantage for the winger who is just recovering from a lengthy injury. City declined a €100 million fee from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich at the start of the season.

However, considering that things have only gotten worse, the club could finally agree to let go of the attacker, as parting ways seems the best option for both parties at the moment.
