4 mouth-watering league matches to look forward to this week

Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea - The Emirates FA Cup Semi-Final
A London Derby awaits!

The final international break of the season is over and it didn't disappoint at all. Many high profile clashes among the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup in Russia were on show and players donned their new national kits with pride.

There were shock victories, such as Spain's 6-1 win over Argentina and Brazil exacting a small bit of revenge on Germany by beating them 1-0, as well as tightly contested affairs like Spain's 1-1 draw against Germany.

But, it is time to forget everything about the international matches until the summer as league matches return this week after a long 14 days!

We are well into the business end of the season as the league leaders look to wrap up the title in the coming weeks and the quarter-finals of the Champions League gets underway in 5 days.

On that note, we look at 4 tasty fixtures to feast our eyes on this week:

#4 Sevilla vs Barcelona (La Liga)

FC Barcelona v Sevilla FC - La Liga
Can Sevilla cause an upset?

When: 19:45 GMT, 31st March (Saturday)

There has been no stopping Barcelona this season. They remain undefeated this campaign and their victory over Atletico Madrid at the beginning of March all but confirmed their league title victory. Barcelona have an 11 point lead with 9 games left to play this season. Barcelona will want to wrap up the title quickly and focus on the Champions League as they hope to achieve the treble this season

Sevilla will be coming into this match in high spirits. They astonishingly knocked Manchester United out of UEFA Champions League's round-of-16 and are high on confidence at the moment. They will be looking to cause an upset and bring more belief to their camp as they prepare to face Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

The match is also a little preview to the Copa del Rey final where these two teams will go head-to-head for the trophy.

#3 Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga)

Bayern Muenchen v Borussia Dortmund - Bundesliga
The "Der Klassiker"

When: 17:30 GMT, 31st March (Saturday)

The Der Klassiker awaits us this week as Bayern Munich welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Allianz Arena. Though it is a match having almost no impact on the title race, this battle tends to get fiery!

Bayern are sitting 17 points clear of second-placed Schalke and are also on their course to win the treble. Gone are the days when there was little to separate the two teams, who will usually be neck-to-neck in the title race at this stage of the season.

Dortmund have enjoyed a fall from grace and are now fighting for a top 3 finish this season. They will be coming into this match with something to prove and there is no doubt they will give everything they have to take something away from the match as they will not want to fall further behind the teams above.

Bayern ran out 3-1 winners in the reverse fixture and it still remains a match where plenty of pride is at stake.

#2 Juventus vs AC Milan (Serie A)

Juventus FC v AC Milan - Serie A
Juventus FC v AC Milan - Serie A

When: 19:45 GMT, 31st March (Saturday)

Just like the Der Klassiker, gone are the days when the entire football world looks forward to the two league matches between Juventus and AC Milan in the calendar year. AC Milan's fall into mediocrity is still a shock to many and what would be treated as a "final" for the league title a decade ago is now a mere formality.

However, this is one of the tightest title races in years as Juventus and Napoli are separated by just 2 points. Napoli travel to Sassoulo, a match they will be expected to win, and the onus will be on Juventus to get a win against Gennaro Gattuso's men.

Juventus are still on course for a treble this season and it is that time of the year when they start to bring their A-game week in and week out.

Gattuso has done a good job since being appointed as head coach of AC Milan and they have lost only 5 times in 23 games under him. They currently sit sixth in the table and will be pushing for a top-four finish to end the season on a high.

Juventus will be the favourites to win the tie and it will be up to Gattuso's men to cause an upset. Fireworks are guaranteed when these two teams meet.

#1 Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League)

Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea - Premier League
The showdown!

When: 16:00 GMT, 1st April (Sunday)

A London Derby to feast our eyes on, and definitely the most important match of the season for both clubs. The two teams have had their ups and downs during the season and it all comes down to Sunday's showdown.

Spurs, who are fourth in the table, are two points behind Liverpool and have a game in hand as well. They are five ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea and a win for Spurs will all but confirm a top-four finish.

They are without the injured Harry Kane for the match and they have been brilliant in the league since mid-December, when they last tasted defeat. Spurs will want to settle scores on Sunday as they eventually lost out on the league in 2016 following a draw at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have looked like anything but champions this season following what has turned out to be a rather meek title defence. This is a must-win game for them and a defeat will result in them falling 8 points behind the top-four with 8 games left to play.

Their league form is concerning as they have only 3 wins in their last 9 games but they seem to have gained belief from their matches against Barcelona where they played good, but got knocked out.

High stakes, star players, local rivals mean a match you just cannot afford to miss.
