Jonathan David joined Lille from KAA Gent in a deal worth €27 million in August 2020. The Canadian has taken his game to an incredible level since then, becoming one of the finest young strikers in Ligue 1 at the moment.

The 21-year-old impressed in the French top flight last season, bagging 13 goals and three assists for Lille in 37 games. This term, he's taken up where he left off. The Canadian already has an impressive record of 12 goals to his name in 19 Ligue 1 appearances. This makes him the top scorer in the league so far this season.

Jonathan David's impressive performances haven't gone unnoticed. According to reports, the striker already has the attention of many big clubs across Europe. Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are all said to be keeping a close eye on his progress.

Icardi looks set to end his Ligue 1 spell next year

Mauro Icardi has fallen below the pecking order at Paris Saint-Germain following the arrival of Lionel Messi this summer. The striker has been playing as a backup to the Parisians' all-star attack featuring Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and the former Barcelona captain. He has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, most of them being as a substitute.

Rumors suggest Icardi has become frustrated with his new role at the Parc des Princes and could leave in search of more game time elsewhere. A return to Inter Milan is being mooted. The likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have also emerged among his potential destinations.

As per multiple sources, Real Madrid remain interested in signing the 22-year-old in 2022. Los Blancos are reportedly waiting for Mbappe to run down his contract with the Parisians this season and sign him for free in the summer.
