#3. Jorginho

Jorginho was one of the most used players by Frank Lampard last season. Due to injuries to N'Golo Kanté, Jorginho played a key role in midfield for Chelsea in Lampard's debut season with the club. But, towards the end of the term, Lampard favored Billy Gilmour over him.

This season has seen that trend continue. Jorginho started the season playing regularly, however, after some underwhelming performances, he fell behind in the pecking order. The midfielder also lost his penalty kick duties to Timo Werner. The return of Gilmour after recovering from injury has seen him fall further behind.

The possible arrival of Thomas Tuchel could prove to be positive for Jorginho. The German likes to play a midfielder who can move the ball quickly, at the heart of his teams' midfield, a role which can see Jorginho get back to his best.

#2. Antonio Rüdiger

Antonio Rüdiger is one of the few Chelsea players who struggled to earn Frank Lampard's trust both last season and this. Despite being the most experienced centre-back after Thiago Silva at the club, the German has fallen behind Kurt Zouma in the pecking order this season.

He has looked out of sorts most of the time for the last two years since recovering from his knee injury. He has faced criticism for his poor performances. However, after a change in the dugout, the defender will hope his fortunes will also change.

Thomas Tuchel's potential arrival will excite the German defender. The ex-Paris Saint-Germain was interested in signing Rüdiger when he was managing the French club, which means that Tuchel may have something in mind to turn around Rüdiger's performances.

#1. Kai Havertz

Chelsea broke their club transfer record to sign Kai Havertz in the summer transfer window. The German came to London with huge promise.

However, things have not worked out as well as both the club and the player would have hoped. The German has scored just one goal in the Premier League this season. The process of adapting to a new league was always going to be difficult for Havertz and it suffered a huge set-back when he tested positive for COVID-19.

However, Frank Lampard's use of Havertz in multiple positions didn't help either. Lampard played the German on the wing at times which suggested that the ex-Blues manager was struggling to find Havertz's best position.

Thomas Tuchel is known for being a very tactical manager and adapt at making his teams play multiple systems. Tuchel will be aware that getting the best out of Chelsea's record signing could prove pivotal and may build his team around the German youngster.
