It is actually a miracle that the shy Zidane could muster up the courage to a simple ’hello’ to an attractive young woman that lived in the same building as him.
Despite seeing Veronica Fernandez almost every day, the legendary French midfielder was too reserved to start a conversation. He might have had his outbursts and fits on the football pitch, but off it, he is one fine gentleman.
Finally, he decided that enough was enough and let a small ‘hello’ one day. After several such greetings down the hallways of their building, Zidane decided to propose her. The rest is history.
The couple has been married since 1994 and is the proud parents of 4 children—all of whom represent Real Madrid at different age groups.
