Manchester City's spending this summer has dwarfed that of every other European club courtesy of the arrival of Jack Grealish. But it often escapes the attention of their critics that the Cityzens also sell very well.

Man City have sold Lukas Nmecha to Wolfsburg for over £7 million. His departure alongside those of Angelino and Jack Harrison has provided Pep with useful funds to strengthen his squad.

After a couple of loan spells in the Championship, Nmecha exploded at Anderlecht last season. He smashed 21 goals in 40 games for the Belgian club. This prompted Wolfsburg to sign him permanently following his loan spell with them during the 2019 campaign.

#2. Denzel Dumfries to Inter Milan

Having already seen Achraf Hakimi scoring on his Ligue A debut, Inter Milan fans were beginning to get worried. With the Serie A season fast approaching their only options at right-wing back were Matteo Darmian and Valentino Lazaro.

But they needn't have worried as a week later the 25-year old PSV wing-back, Denzel Dumfries, walked through the door. He is fresh from shining for the Dutch at Euro 2020.

Inter Milan snapped the Dutchman with a fee of 12 million pounds with wages of 2.5 million pounds per season, half of what his predecessor, Hakimi, was paid. This appears to be one of the bargains of the summer.

Dumfries might not have the otherworldly attacking output of Hakimi, but he still provided 2 goals and assisted 6 times in the Eredivise last season. Factoring in his 3.5 tackles and interceptions per 90 and his 70% aerial duel win rate is double that of the Moroccan wing-back. Simone Inzaghi has bought in a very competent replacement.

The fee for Giroud is understood to be around €1m (£855,000), with an extra €1m (£855,000) in bonuses subject to the number of appearances and qualification for the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham's €40 million exit from Stamford Bridge attracted a lot of attention, while his former teammate Giroud went somewhat under the radar.

Giroud can leave Chelsea with his head held high. He contributed 42 goals and 15 assists during his time at Stamford Bridge. It was a remarkable feat as he was rarely a first-choice in the Blues set-up.

He'll be best remembered in West London for his outstanding 2018-19 Europa League form in which his 11 goals fired Chelsea to the title. He even managed 6 Champions League goals, including a crucial bicycle kick at the Wanda Metropolitano last season, helping his side lift their second Champions League trophy in history.
