Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have wanted to make a statement as his side hosted their old boss Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur. After United took the lead through a Bruno Fernandes penalty in the second minute of the game, Spurs bounced back almost immediately.

Within the seventh minute of the game, Spurs had hit back twice through Tanguy Ndombele and Son Heung-Min. However, the game looked well poised until Anthony Martial was shown a contentious straight red for violent conduct for shoving Erik Lamela in the face.

Mourinho's men ran riot following the incident as Manchester United wilted. Son and Kane each bagged a brace and Serge Aurier got on the scoresheet as well to round off Spurs' biggest win over the Red Devils in the Premier League.

#2 Manchester United 1-6 Manchester City (2011-12)

Manchester United conceded six goals at Old Trafford for the first time since 1930 against their bitter rivals Manchester City in the 2011-12 season. Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko scored two each as the Red Devils were caught with their tails well tucked between their legs.

But in all fairness, Manchester City were only leading 1-0 when Jonny Evans was sent off in the 47th minute of the game. Roberto Mancini's men did not let up after that and just piled on Manchester United's agony with relentless attacking.

Sergio Aguero and David Silva got on the scoresheet as well while Darren Fletcher pulled one back for Manchester United. It was an entirely forgettable day for the Manchester United faithful and it was one of those days when Old Trafford was stunned into silence.

This one has to be at the top of the list for the sheer abomination of a performance that Manchester United turned in against their biggest rivals this weekend. Manchester United and Liverpool share arguably the most heated rivalries in the Premier League. It is an occasion where players are expected to play their hearts out.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men looked like schoolboys who fancied a kickabout with professionals for giggles on a Sunday evening. No intensity, no defensive shape and some absolutely terrible individual performances meant that the Red Devils were carved open every time Liverpool desired to do so.

Mohamed Salah, playing in the form of his life, scored a brilliant hat-trick. It was as Salah-esque as we've seen from him in recent times. Clinical and decisive when it mattered and hardly hindered by pressure.

Naby Keita and Diogo Jota were the other goalscorers as Manchester United supporters rushed out of Old Trafford in droves at half-time. Paul Pogba went on to earn a straight red card after United were already down 5-0 to add insult to injury.

Solskjaer's job now truly hangs in the balance. Even the most loyal supporters of his would have doubts after watching an absolute stinker of a performance from the side.
