Chelsea's dream run in the league was stopped by Newcastle as the Blues suffered their first defeat of the season at St.James' Park in their 15th league game.

The first half of the game ended 0-0 as both the teams failed to find the net to open their scoring.

The Magpies took the lead in the 57th minute of the game when Cisse slotted in after Gary Cahill missed Sammy Ameobi's low cross into the box.

The Senegal striker made it 2-0 for the home side in the 78th minute when he tapped in a pass from Moussa Sissoko.

Steven Taylor was sent-off in the 81st minute as the hosts were reduced to ten-men with nine more minutes on the clock.

Didier Drogba pulled one back for the visitors in the 83rd minute but they failed to score one more as the game ended 2-1 in the favour of the home side.
