Another Premier League player who deserves to be on higher wages is Chelsea and England youngster Mason Mount.

Product of the Blues academy, Mount has proven his worth at Chelsea, becoming one of the most important players for club and country in the last two years.

Technically proficient, the youngster always keeps things ticking for the Blues in the attacking third. He was the standout performer for Chelsea as they won the UEFA Champions League last season. He also picked up Chelsea's 2020-21 Men's Player of the Year award. In 54 appearances across all competitions last season, Mount managed to contribute nine goals and nine assists for the Blues.

The youngster also created 87 chances in the Premier League last season, the second-highest in the league. He was also the Englishman with the highest number of chances created last season.

The 22-year-old is currently on decent wages of £88,000-a-week. But his performances have shown that he definitely warrants more than that. Recent reports have stated that he is set to be offered a new contract which would double his wages.

#2 Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) - £30,000

Euro 2020 final heartbreak aside, Bukayo Saka is one of the most exciting English prospects in football at the moment.

With Arsenal bereft of a spark and creativity within their ranks, 20-year-old Saka stepped up for the Gunners. He was arguably the biggest positive in an otherwise disappointing season for Arsenal.

The youngster put in some highly impressive performances for the Gunners, who appeared a much weaker side whenever Saka was not available. He scored seven goals and provided 10 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions last season.

With the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette struggling last season, the youngster shouldered the attacking responsibilities along with Emile Smith Rowe.

The Englishman recently signed a new contract, tripling his wages from £10,000 to £30,000. However, Saka's immense potential and contributions definitely warrants him much improved wages than the ones he is currently on.

#1 Phil Foden (Manchester City) - £12,000

Manchester City academy graduate Phil Foden is arguably the most talented player from the crop of England youngsters that have emerged in recent years.

Since making his Premier League debut during the 2017-18 season, the 21-year-old has grown in stature and has been a key part of City's success over the last two years.

However, Foden's meager wages of £12,000-a-week does not even come anywhere close to the contributions he has been making on the pitch. Foden was excellent for City last season as they stormed towards the Premier League title. The youngster contributed 26 goals (16 goals and 10 assists) in 50 appearances across all competitions, winning the Premier League Young Player of the Season award.

Manchester City pay close to £50,000 for their second-choice goalkeeper, Zack Steffen. Foden's contributions certainly deserve more than that. There is speculation that City are ready to offer the youngster a new contract that will quadruple his wages, but nothing has been made official as of now.
