A new season of the Premier League is like a new start for a lot of clubs. It gives the clubs the opportunity to start afresh and put the shortcomings of last season in the rear-view mirror.

And nothing makes the new season more exciting for fans than the possibility of new signings. With only 12 weeks available to register players it requires astute decision making in securing the desired player.

Like every season, the Premier League clubs have been on a spending spree this season too. And for the fifth year running the clubs as a whole managed to break the £1 billion barriers in transfers.

But it's often said that "Money doesn't buy success". Well, the most important factor in any deal is that the player should fit in perfectly with the squad and adjust well to the playing style or else all that money just goes down the drain.

But, there have been some players who have quickly adapted to the new conditions and are thriving at their new clubs. After 5 matchdays, some new signings have made themselves indispensable to their teams.

With all that being said, here's the list of 5 players who have been performing really well at their new clubs.

#5 Rui Patrício

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Burnley FC - Premier League
Rui Patricio joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a 4-year deal.

The Portuguese No.1, is an experienced goalkeeper, having impressed with Sporting over the years. The EURO 2016 winner was one of the many Portuguese signings made by the manager Nuno Espírito Santo for Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.

Having been the first choice goalkeeper for Sporting for more than 10 years, he has decent first team experience. Given his history, fans had a lot of expectations from him and it won't be wrong to say that he has impressed fans and critics alike.

He has started in all of the 5 matches for his new team so far. Well, he had a shaky start to the season and conceded 5 goals in his first 3 games, but has kept two clean sheets after that. And did I mention that he has already has made what many are calling a contender for the save of the season?

James Maddison, the 21-year-old creative midfielder has been the brightest of all Leicester players so far this season.

The former Norwich City player has been included in every fixture so far. In absence of dependable Jamie Vardy, he has really stepped up his game. He has been doing justice to the No.10 jersey he wears, by putting in quality performances every week.

In the 5 matches he has played so far, he has scored 2 goals and set up another one. He has been directly involved in more goals than any other Foxes player. He really has established himself as one of the most important players for his team in just 5 matches.

#3 Danny Ings

Crystal Palace v Southampton FC - Premier League
Danny Ings has joined Southampton on loan, which will be converted to a permanent move next season.

Danny Ings, who established himself as a reliable striker for Burnley, decided to move to Southampton from Liverpool this summer, because of limited game-time opportunities.

The English striker has been plagued by injuries in the recent seasons but looks like he is back to full fitness now. He has been on fire this season. Having scored 3 out of the 6 Saints goals in his first 5 matches, it looks like he will play a huge role in their season ahead.

Given that injuries do not hamper his performance again, we can only expect that he will continue his impressive run with his new team.

#2 Jorginho

Chelsea FC v Cardiff City - Premier League
Jorginho has adapted very quickly at Chelsea under his former coach Sarri.

The £57 million signing from Napoli, Jorginho has settled really well into the Chelsea team. He is already one of the most important players in the new 'Sarri-ball' era of the Blues.

He plays a very important role in the team, as a deep-lying midfielder. Given his role, it is not surprising to find that he hasn't really been an attacking threat so far. But still, he managed to get on the score-sheet once.

But the highlight of his performances so far has been his passing so far. As things stand he has completed more successful passes than any other player in the league.

#1 Alisson Becker

Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool FC - Premier League

Who else can be having a better first season than the Liverpool No.1 Alisson? He commands the Liverpool defense that has conceded only 2 goals so far.

He had the perfect start to his season when he kept 3 consecutive clean sheets in his first 3 appearances for the Reds. He is one of the prime reasons for the unbeaten run of Liverpool so far.

Coming to the stats, he has the kept more clean sheets than any other keeper this season, only conceded two goals so far, which is again the league best. Though he did concede a goal against Leicester City because if his won error, his performances have more than made up for it since.
