Manchester United have made a lot of signings in the last decade.

There have been plenty of signings made by Premier League teams in the last ten years. Some of these clubs have been successful with their signings, and have won numerous trophies in the last decade. While some of the signings have become club legends, others failed and eventually moved elsewhere.

We have compiled a list of five successful Premier League teams that have made the most signings in the last decade. Teams have been selected based on the number of trophies won (excluding the UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup and Community Shield). So without further ado, let's take a look at the same in ascending order:

#5 Manchester United - 49

Manchester United
Manchester United

The team with the most Premier League titles, Manchester United (13), have made the fewest number of signings on this list. They have only made 49 signings in the past decade, managing one Premier League, one FA Cup, one League Cup and one Europa League title.

However, United have had a net spend of £932.14 million, the highest on the list. While they have had some good signings like Bruno Fernandes, David De Gea, Zlatan Ibrahimovich and Robin Van Persie., to name a few, they also spent heavily on the likes of Angel Di Maria, Alexis Sanchez and Memphis Depay, who were not able to live up to expectations at Old Trafford.

United have not had a great decade since their legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013. They have not managed to win the Premier League since then but have improved in the last few years.

With big-name arrivals like Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer, they will hope to end their Premier League drought this season.

#4 Arsenal - 56

Arsenal
Arsenal

Although Arsenal have not been as successful as other clubs on this list, they make the cut owing to their record in cup competitions. They have won four FA Cups in the last decade, but have been disappointing in the Premier League and on the European stage.

Arsenal have made 56 signings in the last decade, with a net spend of £500.04 million. But they have not been able to replicate the success they had at the start of the century. They have not played in the Champions League since 2016 and didn't qualify for any European competition this season.

Some of their signings, including Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Hector Bellerin and Alexis Sanchez, have made an impact at the club. But the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Willian and Henrikh Mkhitaryan failed to perform.

Arsenal have made some decent signings in this transfer window, with Ben White, Albert Lokonga and Nuno Tavares arriving at the Emirates.

The Gunners will hope the new signings settle well and help the team return to the Champions League in 2022-23.

#3 Liverpool - 64

Liverpool
Liverpool

Liverpool have been one of the most successful teams along with Manchester City in the Premier League in the last few years, managing some shrewd signings. They lifted the Champions League in 2019 and ended their 30-year league drought by lifting the title in 2020.

The Reds have made a total of 64 signings in the last decade. They have been excellent in the transfer market in the last few years. The likes of Mohammed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Sadio Mane have propelled them to the Champions League and Premier League titles in consecutive seasons.

While Liverpool made some questionable signings at the start of the decade, the arrival of Jurgen Klopp in 2015 changed the fortunes of the club. Liverpool have made some shrewd signings since then. The German has integrated these players brilliantly into his team, implementing a style of football that has been quite successful.

Liverpool had a disappointing 2020-21 season due to injuries but still finished third in the Premier League. With key players now back in training, the Reds will once again hope to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

#2 Manchester City - 74

Manchester City have won three of the last four Premier League titles.
Manchester City have won three of the last four Premier League titles.

Arguably the most successful Premier League team in the last decade, Manchester City have been phenomenal since Sheikh Mansour took over the club in 2008. City won their first league title in 44 years in 2012 and since then have won four more, along with one FA Cup and six league cups.

On the transfer front City, have spent heavily since Sheikh Mansour's takeover. They have spent a whopping £1.36 billion in the last decade, signing 74 signings and spending £895.89 million in the transfer market. Their spending has certainly reaped rewards, considering their success in the last ten years.

They have had some excellent signings like Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling, who have been a crucial part of their -title-winning teams in recent years. The arrival of Pep Guardiola in 2016 has seen Manchester City become one of the best teams in Europe, winning three of the last four Premier League titles.

The only title that has eluded Manchester City is the UEFA Champions League. They reached their final in the competition last season but were beaten by Chelsea.

With reports stating that Harry Kane and Jack Grealish are being targeted by the club, City will hope that these two players would help them conquer Europe next season.

#1 Chelsea - 77

Chelsea
Chelsea

The Premier League team with the most signings in the last decade are Champions League winners Chelsea.

The Blues have had 77 signings in the last decade, albeit half of them would have joined their loan army immediately on arrival. Although Chelsea have spent £1.31 billion on new signings, they have had a net spend of just £484.84 million, earning a decent income from player sales.

However, the Blues' spending has not been wasteful, as they have been one of the most successful Premier League clubs alongside Manchester City in the last decade. The Blues have won two Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues, two Europa Leagues, two FA Cups and one League Cup. They recently won their second Champions League title, beating Manchester City in the final.

Chelsea have had signings like Eden Hazard, Diego Costa, N'Golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas, who were excellent for the Blues. They also spent a lot of money on the likes of Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Kepa Arrizabalaga, who failed to live up to expectations at Stamford Bridge, though.

After winning the Champions League last season, Chelsea will look to further bolster their squad this summer. They are in the market for a striker and are ready to spend heavily on the likes of Harry Kane, Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku. If they acquire one of their transfer targets, Chelsea could be in contention for the Premier League title next season.
