The 2019 winter window officially comes to an end today. Clubs have had the last 31 days to conduct mid-season business and while some were extremely busy in the market, making signings to augment their squads, others were relatively quiet.

With every transfer deadline day comes new twists and turns, with clubs making frantic last-minute attempts to sign players who had evaded them thus far and this particular deadline day would not be an exception, as speculations are already flying over which clubs are interested in which players.

In this piece, we shall be taking a look at five deals which could be completed today in the footballing world.

#5 Willian to PSG

With Neymar having suffered a recurrence of his ankle injury from last season, which is set to rule him out for at least two months, PSG are desperate to find a replacement, as they have a couple of crunch fixtures taking place during the time their Brazilian talisman would be out for, chief of which is the UCL round of 16 clash with Manchester United.

They have reportedly made a shock offer for Chelsea winger Willian in a bid to bring him to the Parc des Princes on deadline day in preparation for their matchup against United.

Chelsea had earlier in the summer turned down an offer from Barcelona, with The Blues placing a £40m valuation on the 30-year-old.

The Brazilian winger has made 23 Premier League appearances this season under Maurizio Sarri, scoring three goals and making four assists.

Willian has been an ever-present in the Chelsea setup since his 2013 arrival from Anzhi Makhachkala, but with 18 months left on his current contract and Chelsea's restrictive contract policy for players over the age of 30, it might be in his best interest to seek a new challenge elsewhere, with PSG offering an excellent opportunity to boost his already stocked trophy cabinet.

#4 Olivier Giroud to West Ham

Following the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain, Olivier Giroud is said to have been further unsure of his status in the Chelsea team, having largely featured as a backup up until this point.

Even with the misfiring Alvaro Morata present, Maurizio Sarri showed a distinct lack of trust in the Frenchman, preferring to field Eden Hazard as a false nine rather than start the 32-year-old former Arsenal man.

West Ham are said to be interested in rekindling their interest in Giroud, due to fears over the fitness of top striker Marko Arnautovic.

The Hammers have reportedly made enquiries over the availability of Giroud, having attempted to sign him earlier when he was departing Arsenal only to lose out to Chelsea on that occasion.

Giroud has scored one goal and made four assists for Chelsea from 19 Premier League matches this season.

#3 Yannick Carrasco to Arsenal

Ever since he unexpectedly departed Atletico Madrid for China in 2018, Belgian international winger Yannick Carrasco has not hidden his desire to return to Europe since then and his dream could come to pass, with Arsenal reportedly interested in bringing him to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are said to have been frustrated in their efforts to land Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, with the club reportedly agreeing terms with the Croatian but falling out with the club over the terms of the deal, with the Londoners preferring a loan move while Inter wanted an outright sale.

The club has, therefore, turned their attention to the 25-year-old, with head coach Unai Emery keen to bolster his attack. In 25 matches in the Chinese Super League for Dalian Yifang, Carrasco has scored seven goals so far.

#2 Andreas Christensen to Juventus

Having been a key member of Antonio Conte's Chelsea set up last season, Christensen has seen himself knocked down the pecking order ever since the arrival of Sarri, as the Italian prefers a defensive pairing of David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger.

The 22-year-old Dane has made just one appearance in the Premier League this season, as he has been confined to just Cup and Europa League apperances, which is rather disheartening considering how highly rated he is.

Christensen has become the subject of bids from Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, which was reportedly turned down by Chelsea while Juventus have also been identified as being interested in the youngster's services.

The Bianconeri have something of a defensive crisis and are in desperate need of reinforcements, with Medhi Benatia having completed his departure to Qatari club Al Duhail and Leonardo Bonucci and captain Giorgio Chiellini suffering injuries.

#1 Shinji Kagawa to Monaco

Distressed French Ligue 1 side are in desperate need of reinforcements to preserve their top-flight status and as such have made a number of signings in this window, while also terminating the contract of Thierry Henry after the World Cup winner failed to provide the inspiration needed from the dugout.

The club have also identified Japanese international Shinji Kagawa as a player who could help them get out of their dire straits, with the principality club set to sign the former Manchester United man on a loan transfer till the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has found himself massively out of favour ever since the arrival of Lucien Favre in the summer, making just five appearances in all competitions for BVB as Favre has shown a preference for Jadon Sancho, Axel Witsel and Thomas Delaney in the middle of the park.

If Kagawa completes the transfer, he will join the likes of Gelson Martins and Cesc Fabregas as winter arrivals who will seek to prevent Monaco from taking the drop just two seasons after their remarkable Ligue 1 triumph and UCL run.
