#3 Kai Havertz

Many of you may have thought that this slide was going to be about Jack Grealish. While Grealish is a fantastic player, his off-field antics may not be in agreement with the type of culture Solksjaer is trying to build at Manchester United. A younger alternative to the Aston Villa captain would be Bayer Leverkusen star, Kai Havertz. The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in Europe, with his tally of 66 goals and 34 assists in 204 appearances in all competitions a testament to his abilities.

The situation at United: The Red Devils currently have two high-profile players who can play as attacking midfielders: Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba. Pogba has been heavily linked with moves to Juventus and Real Madrid from the onset of his Old Trafford career.

However, the Frenchman is unlikely to leave this summer because those clubs wouldn't be able to stump up the hefty transfer fee his services would command. The only realistic way the 27-year-old could depart the club is by buying up his contract, a move he is highly unlikely to undertake given the negative connotations it would entail.

Why he fits the bill: Havertz is a highly skilled player who can be deployed in several positions across midfield. However, he particularly shines as an attacking midfielder and would be the perfect replacement for Pogba when he eventually gets his move away from Old Trafford. Even with the World Cup winner in the squad, signing Havertz and gradually inducting him the first XI would be a sensible move for United.

Possibility rating: 4/10. Havertz had previously spoken of his desire to move away from Leverkusen but he is likely to end up at Bayern Munich, as most German superstars do. However, his desire to play abroad might just open the door for Liverpool, whose manager Jurgen Klopp is a known admirer of his abilities, or for Real Madrid, where he could partner Federico Valverde in a new-look central midfield.

#2 Jude Bellingham

There is a consensus in the British midlands that Jude Bellingham is destined to be an absolute baller in the future. The youngest-ever player to represent Birmingham City, the 16-year-old has already racked up more than 30 appearances, scoring 3 goals and assisting 4 times. The England U-17's captain's combative playing style has been likened to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

The situation at United: Given that Bellingham is only 16 and in his first season in professional football, the Red Devils do not consider him as a part of their immediate plans and it is highly likely that he will be loaned back to Birmingham City to gain valuable experience if he does indeed sign for the club.

Why he fits the bill: Bellingham is certainly one for the future and fits the type of player United's recent transfer activities have targetted: young, skilful and hungry for success. The Manchester giants' revamped transfer ethos also focusses on British players, so that's an additional advantage.

Possibility rating: 6/10. United have not held back in showing their appreciation for the player and want the move to happen. The presence of Sir Alex Ferguson when Bellingham was given a tour of United's training facilities is indicative of the fact that the Red Devils see him as a key player for the future.

The only threat to United at this stage seems to be Borussia Dortmund, who have displayed a penchant for developing young players and then selling them for mammoth transfer fees. Bellingham might want to follow in the footsteps of compatriot Jadon Sancho and Ousmane Dembele and move to the Westfalenstadion to continue the upward trajectory of his career.

#1 Jadon Sancho

No prizes for guessing that Manchester United's top priority is Jadon Sancho. The Englishman has made a splash since joining Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, scoring 31 times and assisting 42 goals in 90 appearances. He is considered to be one of the best young right-wingers in the world.

The situation at United: The Red Devils have several players who can play from the left wing but the same cannot be said for the right wing. While Daniel James can do a decent job on the right flank, he is much better when deployed on the left. Playing him out of position has, therefore, led to a loss of form and a series of inconsistent performances. Solksjaer's utilisation of Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira on the right wing has also not produced great results, making United desperate to sign a specialist right-winger.

Why he fits the bill: Sancho would slot straight into United's starting line-up as he would provide much-needed balance to a squad that has been lopsided for several years now. The Englishman's age and stature perfectly fit the kind of squad Solksjaer is trying to build at Old Trafford under the revamped transfer strategy. The 20-year-old's sheer quality and gritty work ethic would also be appreciated at the club and he is certain to a fan favourite among the Red Devils faithful.

Possibility rating: 7/10. Reports from reputed journalists like Fabrizio Romano suggest that United are prepared to go to any lengths to complete this transfer. The Red Devils believe that while challenging for the title seems to be a bridge too far in the short-term, signings like Sancho can certainly put them in the right direction.
