Players that could be on their way to the Emirates

England v Germany - International Friendly

After the frustrating draw at St Mary’s, Arsene Wenger broke the news of Aaron Ramsey suffering a setback in training while recovering from a thigh injury. Ramsey last played for Arsenal against West Ham on 26th December and he was taken off on 64th minute as he took a knock. According to the reports, the Welshman will be out for four to six weeks. Mathieu Flamini will miss Arsenal’s next four games as he was sent off for two footed challenge on Morgan Schneiderlin. He have served his one match ban for picking up too many yellow cards on the way before and hence he will now miss four games. With Theo Walcott already out for the rest of the season & difficult fixtures on the cards, Wenger faces big challenge to strengthen this team in order to stay in the race for the silverware. Here are the possible options that could be signed by the Gunners as only 3 days remain to move for the right player as deadline day looms.

1. Julian Draxler:

Price Tag: €30million

The German wonderkid has been liked with a move to the Emirates stadium throughout the January transfer window with some media outlets reporting the clubs are in advanced negotiations while fee is remained to be agreed. Former legends such as Robert Pires & Jen Lehmann have praised Draxler and he could be a great addition to the Arsenal setup. A move looks imminent either in coming days or in the summer.

2. Mirko Vucinic:

Price Tag: £10million/On Loan

The Gunners want the 30 year old striker on loan till the end of the season but the Bianconeri want to sell the Montenegro international. Vucinic – Guarin swap deal was agreed between Juventus & Internazionale but the move collapsed after Inter called off the deal in 24 hours. Vucinic joined the Turin club in July 2011 and has won the title two seasons in a row with the Old Lady.

3. Alvaro Morata

Price Tag: On Loan

The Spaniard is on the Arsenal radar for a quite some time now but the Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his desire to keep Morata at the club again & again. Even the 20 year old came out in public & expressed his desire to stay at Bernabeu and fight for his chances. With Karim Benzema & Jese Rodriguez upfront, Alvaro Morata has failed to make a permanent place in the starting lineup of Los Blancos

4. Dimitar Berbatov

Price Tag: £2.5million

Fulham are currently negotiating with Olympiacos for Greece forward Kostas Mitroglou and as a result Berbatov could be on his way out of the Craven Cottage. If Arsenal move for the Berbatov, it will be a cut price deal with Berbatov having experience of both Champions League and Premier League. Though it will be a bargain, Wenger is reluctant to give a 2 year deal to the 32-year old Bulgarian international.

5. Cristian Tello

Price Tag: £10.5million/On Loan

Cristian Tello signed a new deal in August 2013 to extend his contract with Barcelona from 2016 to 2018 but has not featured Barça regularly. Reports say Arsene Wenger was in Levante to watch Tello in last midweek. With a rare start, Tello hit a hattrick in Catalan giant’s 4-1 away win. He used to play upfront as a youngster but was played wide left by Pepe Guardiola to use his pace and technique more efficiently. Tello is fallen down the pecking order behind Pedro, Fabregas & Sanchez and could like to move on to get more playing time.
