Arsenal thrash Manchester City 3-1 in a friendly at Helsinki

A Theo Walcott inspired Arsenal hammered their league rivals Manchester City 3-1 on Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, Finland, in a pre-season friendly to gear up for EPL next week.

Walcott gave the Gunners an early lead in Finland against when he chipped the ball over Joe Hart, before turning providing assists to Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud in the second-half.

Ramsey doubled the lead for Arsene Wenger’s men after Giroud dummied Walcott’s pass, giving Ramsey the chance to round off Hart. Then Giroud received a long pass from Walcott and lobbed easily over Hart from the edge of the box to add a third goal.

Alvaro Negredo scored a consolation goal for City by holding off Laurent Koscielny’s challenge and rolling the ball past Lukasz Fabianski.
