His work rate, his passing and his end product can improve Arsenal and his overall package has attracted the Gunners towards him.

AS can also reveal that Arsenal are pretty serious about taking Saul on board and the midfielder can be said as their No.1 summer target.

Saul has a contract with Atletico until 2026 and has a release clause of €150 million. Arsenal are ready to break the bank for the Atletico Madrid midfielder in order to compete with their Premier League rivals financially and also have a chance of getting back into the title race.

Jack Wilshere's contract talks have reportedly reached an impasse. Wilshere has an offer on the table from Arsenal but the midfielder is not ready to accept a cut in his wages. The contract renewal of Mesut Ozil has further incensed Wilshere over declining such a deal.

Meanwhile, Wilshere's current contractual standoff has given Everton confidence of signing him on a free transfer in the summer.

Daily Star reports that the Toffees are keen on signing the combative midfielder and plan on revolving their team around him.

Everton are also ready to offer Wilshere a sizeable signing-on fee and are willing to match Wilshere's wage demands.
