Ashley Cole's family allegedly rejoiced Ferdinand's coin attack

Rio Ferdinand reacts after being struck by an object thrown from the crowd

Chelsea star Ashley Cole’s brother Matty Cole and mother Sue seem to find the coin attack on Rio Ferdinand a matter worth gloating on the Social Media.

According to the Mirror, when Rio Ferdinand was bleeding on the field, Matty Cole announced the news on Facebook with a deep sense of celebration and his mother too joined him, commenting happily over Rio’s agony on the same thread.

Ferdinand was struck by a 2p coin on his face during the celebration of Robin Van Persie‘s late goal that sealed the game for United in the Manchester Derby.

Matty posted: “So happy Rio got hit in the face today when he tried to give it kissing his badge!! Straight in the eye!! Made my day.”

An hour later, his mother Sue commented on the same thread: “Bloody missed that, ha ha ha. Give the fan that threw it a medal!!!”

Rio Ferndinand and Ashley Cole have history, over the John Terry row with Rio’s brother Anton.

Matty has 647 friends and the post could have appeared as a shock for many, after the nasty violence at the Derby. Matty also added : “They’ll show it on MoTD sooooo funny lol.”

Sue also commented on her son’s Facebook page when Rio appeared on television in the X-factor final. She wrote : “Rio in audience at x factor, wonder if he can see?????”

Matty added: “He talks like he sucking an egg!! Rubber lip lol.”

When Sue was contacted by The Mirror, she denied the reports saying, “Who has put that on? I don’t know who has done that. It wasn’t me.”

Matty was not reachable for comments.

The offending thread was removed five minutes after Sue spoke to The Mirror’s reporter.

These incidents clearly reflect the cold war between Rio and Cole since the Terry row, where the Chelsea captain was accused of racial abuse over QPR star Anton during the match in October last year.
