Jan Oblak - 6/10

The Atletico Madrid shot-stopper did not have to get involved too much as Chelsea failed to trouble him for a huge part of the game. There was nothing he could do about Olivier Giroud’s superb strike, as it was unexpected and he was poorly positioned at the time.

Stefan Savic - 6.5/10

The center-back was solid all night. He was on deck to make multiple clearances and snuff out any danger the Chelsea attack posed.

Felipe - 6/10

Felipe played at the heart of the hosts' back three and he was commanding all game. However, he was occasionally caught out in dangerous positions, as he progressed high up the pitch.

Mario Hermoso - 6/10

The Spanish full-back had a decent outing against Chelsea, but his attempted clearance fell graciously for Giroud, who wasted no time before firing home the opener.

Marcos Llorente - 6.5/10

The Spaniard failed to make an impression in the game as he was deployed in a more defensive wing-back role. He struggled to keep up with the pace of Chelsea man Timo Werner and was booked shortly after the hour mark for a needless challenge.

Koke - 7/10

Atletico Madrid’s commanding presence at the center of the park. Koke kept it tidy in midfield, constantly cutting out danger from the Chelsea frontmen. He finished with four tackles and two interceptions while keeping play ticking with an 84% passing accuracy. A worthy performance from the club captain.

Saul - 7/10

In a routine outing, Saul proved to be the engine of the Atletico Madrid midfield. He was tenacious all game, winning four tackles, two interceptions and one clearance as he provided a solid defensive cover in midfield.

His positional play and awareness was also impressive and he kept the ball tidy, finishing with a 93% passing accuracy.

Thomas Lemar - 6.5/10

Brewing with confidence once again, the France international played as a wing-back but was always looking to charge forward and take-on the Chelsea defenders. Lemar should have opened the scoring in the first half after he was teed up by former Barcelona man Luis Suarez, but he failed to keep his effort on target.

Angel Correa - 6.5/10

A tireless performance from the Atletico Madrid forward. He was often located too deep in the hosts' half as he joined in closing down the Chelsea attack. He made two clearances and one tackle while completing 72% of his passes. However, he failed to contribute meaningfully in attack and finished the game without a shot on target.

Joao Felix - 6/10

Due to the defensive approach from Atletico Madrid, the Portuguese international was toothless all night and was situated too deep to cause any real troubles. He linked up well with his midfielders and had one goal attempt which he dragged wide.

Luis Suarez - 7/10

The Uruguayan was Atletico Madrid's sole threat going forward against a resolute Chelsea defense. He was a nuisance to the visitors' backline and he constantly looked to beat his marker. He created a big chance for Thomas Lemar in the first half but the Frenchman failed to put the ball away from close range.
