Bayern Munich Player Ratings

A depleted Bayern Munich side struggled to create many chances
A depleted Bayern Munich side struggled to create many chances

Alexander Nubel - 7/10

No clean sheet for Nubel, who was beaten by Felix in the first-half. Besides that, had little to do for Bayern Munich in the match.

Niklas Sule - 7.5/10

With three defensive aerial duels won and two clearances made, Sule was superb for Bayern Munich. He was the mortar to Alaba's brick.

David Alaba - 7/10

A solid display from the Austrian at the heart of the Bayern Munich defense, as he always tried to keep it intact. He registered an 88% pass completion rate, as well as two tackles and clearances each.

Lucas Hernandez - 7/10

He was one of three centre-backs in Flick's 3-4-2-1 system. Even though this limited his offensive play, he came up trumps defensively and made the most tackles in the match with four, as well as another three clearances.

Bouna Sarr - 5/10

Sarr was totally outplayed on his flank by Carrasco and Felix, and even went into the books for a nasty challenge on the former.

Jamal Musiala - 7/10

Musiala was Bayern Munich's brightest spark in the attack. He made a few key passes in the build-up to the little attacking which his side did. Musiala then assumed a more deep-lying role after Muller came on, which he played to perfection too.

Javi Martinez - 6/10

Martinez made a vital intervention in the first-half to deny Felix a cross. He also made two clearances in the match.

Bright Arrey-Mbi - 6/10

Not the most spectacular Bayern Munich debut for the youngster, but he didn't make any mistakes on his side of the flank.

Leroy Sane - 6/10

Without Muller, Gnabry, Coman, and Lewandowski in the team, this was his chance to be Bayern Munich's hero. However, Sane really squandered it and failed to offer anything of note, managing just one shot at goal.

Douglas Costa - 6/10

An improved performance from Costa compared to the weekend, as he showedd good energy and intent. However, he mustered just one shot at goal.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting - 6/10

He filled in for Lewandowski but didn't look anything like him. The Cameroonian was virtually non-existent for Bayern Munich, failed to put away some chances and offered little else.

Substitutes

Thomas Muller - 8/10

Despite his limited time today, the Raumdeuter managed to make a telling impact. He won a penalty and then dispatched it nonchalantly beyond Oblak to help Bayern Munich avoid defeat.

Serge Gnabry - 6/10

He came on just after the hour mark, but didn't do much in terms of building play and creating chances for Bayern Munich.

Chris Richards - 6/10

His passing was good and showed his aerial prowess too, but other than that, he was nothing special.

Angelo Stiller - N/A

The 19-year old made his debut, but couldn't mark it with anything of note due to the limited time given to him.

Joshua Zirkzee - N/A

The 19-year old had little time to do anything.
