Atletico Madrid Director Clemente Villaverde has indirectly said that Jose Mourinho does not have total control over the transfer dealings at Chelsea and hence there is still a chance that Belgian keeper Thiabaut Courtois will move to Atletico permanently.

Mourinho had revealed earlier that Courtois will return to Chelsea at the end of the season : “Will he stay with Atletico? No. No.”

However, Villaverde stated : “I do not know why he said that,”

“I can say that we are very happy with Thibaut and that Atletico Madrid will do everything possible for him to stay with us. Normally when I negotiate with Chelsea, or any team, it is not a negotiation with the coach. Never.”

Chelsea have the former Aussie keeper Mark Schwarzer as the current number 2, but the experienced keeper is 41 years old and his contract expires in the summer. Current goalkeeper Petr Cech is still going strong, and Chelsea have a brilliant defensive record to back the argument.

However, loaned out keeper Courtois is being considered the next big thing in his position, and it is highly likely that he will remain at Stamford Bridge for a long time.
