Barcelona transfer news: PSG star refuses to rule out move, Midfielder set for summer exit and more - 15th February 2018

Verratti refuses to rule out future Barcelona move
Verratti refuses to rule out future Barcelona move

Marco Verratti does not rule out a future move to Camp Nou

The Italian ended up on the losing side in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Real Madrid in Spain. The 25-year old was quizzed regarding his future in Paris and whether a future move to Barcelona is on the cards. He replied to Premium Sport:

"Barcelona? I don't know, I am happy here in Paris. I believe in this project and I hope to stay here long. Maybe PSG will sell me but let's see."

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have assembled stars such as Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe to have a crack at the Champions League and a 3-1 loss to Madrid presents a huge deficit to overturn in the second leg. In case the Qatari-backed club fail to achieve their target, then more changes can be expected in the summer, with Verratti a possible name on the exits list.

In such a scenario, Barcelona can swoop in for the player given the comparisons with club legend Xavi in terms of the style of play. While the rocky relationship between PSG and the Blaugrana could prove to be a problem, Verratti's quality will definitely be worth the hassle for the La Liga leaders.

Patrick Kluivert talks about Justin's Barcelona links

Ajax v Feyenoord - Eredivisie
Another Kluivert at Barcelona in the near future?

The 18-year old son of the illustrious father is already causing ripples in the Eredivisie with Ajax and is being touted for a big move in the near future. After Justin spoke about his future prospects recently, his father, Patrick, opened up on his expectations and future to Cadena Sur and said:

"Justin is doing very well. I hope he continues like that, with his feet on the ground. I'm happy for him for how he's dealing with everything. He has to play another year at Ajax to keep growing physically and mentally. He has to be calm. He feels good and with confidence. If his head is in a good place, his moment will come and he will choose."
"It's difficult to say no to Barca but also to other teams. He's 18. The most important thing is that you choose with your heart and a team that best suits your game. Not the one who pays more, the one that plays your style of play. That's the most important thing."
"I see him more in the Spanish league. There are teams in the Premier League who play good football, but I see him more in Spain. It's his decision."

If Kluivert Sr. sees his son in Spain, then it is very likely that the youngster will be targetted by Madrid and Barcelona. This could see his father's influence favour the Blaugrana and the Catalan outfit stand to benefit in the long-term from signing Kluivert Jr.

Barcelona ready to offload Andre Gomes

Real Betis v Barcelona - La Liga
It has not worked out for Gomes at Barcelona

The Portuguese has failed to make the expected impact at Camp Nou after signing for the Catalan side from Valencia in 2016. Now, the 24-year old finds himself surplus to requirements in Ernesto Valverde's squad and the club is ready to cut short its losses in the summer, as per Spanish newspaper, AS.

The Blaugrana will be willing to do business at the right price with a club source speaking to the news outlet about Gomes, saying:

"It's a real shame. He's a player who has so much to offer his team and his coach, but situations often just seem to get the better of him."

If this is indeed true, then the midfielder only has a few more months to save his Barcelona career. However, if he has no other option than to leave, then Manchester United and Juventus could reignite their interest from last summer and Barcelona can recoup a decent sum from his sale.
