What’s the story?

After another setback in their hopes to achieve European glory, Paris Saint-Germain are all set to offload many star players as they look set to splash the cash once again in the upcoming summer transfer window.

In order to balance the books, the club may have to offload their star players. One of them is Angel Di Maria who is reportedly targeted by FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as they continue to monitor the situation.

In case you didn’t know..

Di Maria has already played for best clubs in the world which include Real Madrid, Manchester United and PSG. He should be able to easily adapt to the Spanish League having played for Barcelona's eternal rivals, Los Blancos, previously.

The heart of the matter

PSG are already under the scanner and may be subjected to Financial Fair Play sanctions. Therefore, the club could be looking to sell some of their star players before they can buy and Angel Di Maria looks likely to be on his way out. The Ligue 1 champions may not want to part ways with Edinson Cavani who is a fan favorite and selling either Neymar or Kylian Mbappe looks out of the question. This situation leaves the Argentine vulnerable to getting sold if there is interest from other clubs.

Di Maria already has world class suitors tussling out for him. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid reportedly go head to head for Di Maria's signature and winger can still command a considerable fee given that he is under contract at PSG until 2021.

The former Real Madrid winger has been one of the most consistent performers in his career at the Parc des Princes but the French club knows parting ways is quite necessary to escape severe sanctions.

What's next?

Di Maria drew interest from Barcelona last season as well but eventually ended up staying in Paris. This time around his departure could happen amid the interest. PSG will next face Angers over the weekend.
