Barcelona went through to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey after winning 6-1 in the second leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-finals against Sevilla.

On the final day of the winter transfer window, the Catalans could complete a signing or two, while a few players could also leave the club on 31st January, 2019.


#1 Rakitic to stay at Barca

Following the emphatic 6-1 win over Sevilla on Wednesday night, Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic confirmed that he will be staying with the Catalan team.

"Since I've been here, I don't know how many times I've said that I want to stay and I'll say it again. I'm more than happy here and my intention is to be here even longer. I gave the president a little reminder to see if he could get my renewal going," said Rakitic.

Rakitic's contract with Barcelona ends in 2021 and it seems like he will be with the team for several more years.


#2 Denis Suarez signs with Arsenal

Arsenal have completed the loan signing of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, and reports suggest that Arsenal have the option to buy the player in the summer. Suarez's contract with Barcelona ends in 2021, and Arsenal could buy the player for around €25 million in the summer.

Unai Emery spoke about Arsenal's new signing: “We are very happy that Denis Suarez is joining us. He is a player we know well and I have worked with him at Sevilla. He brings us quality and options in many different attacking positions, so he’ll be able to help the team.”


#3 Arsenal pull out of race to sign Barca player

Arsenal may have completed the signing of Denis Suarez, but another Barcelona players, Malcom, will not be moving to the Emirates, as per The Sun.

The Brazilian winger was wanted by the Gunners on loan, but the English club have pulled out of the talks as Barcelona's loan demands were on the higher side. Malcom hasn't featured much for Barcelona this season, and it looks like he will be staying at Nou Camp, as the other club that were keen on signing him, Tottenham, also do not have interest in signing him.

#4 Barca to sign Brazilian striker

Barcelona are looking to add more young players to their team, and AS are reporting that the Catalans have their eyes on 19-year-old Brazilian striker, Gabriel Novaes.

Novaes plays for Brazilian team Sao Paulo, and has attracted interest from Barcelona after bagging 10 goals in Sao Paulo Youth Cup.

The report suggests that Barcelona could sign the striker for the Barcelona B team and loan him to Nástic de Tarragona due to a long process of registering the player.

#5 PSG to offload Rabiot to Liverpool

Sport reported yesterday that PSG may sell Adrien Rabiot in this transfer window, instead of losing him on a free in the summer. Rabiot has been frozen out of the PSG team after he and the club could not come to terms to sign a new contract.

The report suggests that Liverpool are the frontrunners in signing Rabiot on a deal today, while Tottenham are also interested in his signature.
