What’s the story?

Bayern Munich have been chasing Leroy Sane for a while now and it appears like Pep Guardiola has given the green signal for deal to go forward.

In case you didn’t know..

The German giants are looking to reshape their ageing squad as veterans like Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Rafinha all set to leave at the end of this season. The Bavarians feel the 23 year old is the perfect fit for the team as he has already played in the Bundesliga previously with FC Schalke.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a departure in the upcoming summer transfer window after playing a reduced role in their treble-winning campaign, starting 29 of his 45 appearances in all competitions.

The heart of the matter

The German club's interest in the Manchester City winger has been known for some time and the Premier league champions have allowed the negotiations to take place. And now, if reports are to be believed Pep Guardiola is set to let Sane leave this summer.

With Bayern president Uli Hoeneß openly confirming his team's interest in Leroy Sane, it is evident that he is their number one transfer target.

Meanwhile, the former Bayern manager wants to keep the German international in the squad but understands his stance of getting enough playing time with players like Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez all above him in the pecking order.

It is roughly estimated that Sane would cost the club between €70-100m and he would be the ideal replacement for the outgoing Franck Ribery but would be competing against Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry for the spot.

The German champions believe their good relationship with their former manager Guardiola may work out in their favor as they look to snap up the starlet.

What's next?

If Bayern Munich succeed in their pursuit of Leroy Sane, a pacy attack of Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and the current Man City star looks ferocious.
