Manchester City have been at their dominating best since the 2017-18 campaign. The Citizens have swept away almost any opposition that they have faced. Moreover, the way Guardiola's side start their games, the match gets over within the first 45 minutes itself.

However, it was a different proposition last night. Stamford Bridge is always a tricky place to visit for any team. City started the game with their usual swagger, creating numerous chances in the first half. Raheem Sterling should have given Manchester City the lead within the first five minutes, but he missed a sitter from a close range.

Since then, the reigning League champions made many in-roads into the Chelsea box with Sane and Sterling running the show for City, but they paid for their missed chances.

Towards the end of the first half, Hazard found Kante, who slotted home beautifully to give the home side the lead into the break. It was also the first time in a year that Pep Guardiola's side went into the half-time trailing by a goal with their unbeaten run under serious threat.
