The Spaniard was selected ahead of Willian to start as a part of the front three and he ensured that the Brazilian was not missed on the night. Pedro was full of running and followed Sarri's tactics to the T. He stretched the Arsenal back line by hugging the touchline at times, only to cut back inside in the next moment.

He drifted across the front line and caused Arsenal all sorts of problems. He did come close to scoring a couple of times, but it was in the 60th minute that Pedro had his moment of the game.

As Chelsea came up with wave after wave of attack after taking the lead, Kovacic intercepted a pass from Maitland-Niles and passed the ball to Hazard. The Belgian showed some quick feet to get into the box and then expertly found Pedro, who finished the first time to give Chelsea a 2-0 lead. It brought much-needed composure to the Blues and capped up a fine performance from the Spaniard.
