Chelsea fans are currently enduring a torrid time following the club’s poor run of form in recent weeks. The Blues lost for the second time in two weeks again Manchester City, this time in the Carabao Cup final.Maurizio Sarri’s men put up a gallant performance and managed to match the league champions boot-for-foot for the entirety of the game. However, the London outfit ended up losing out in the end, as Man City won the trophy following a penalty shootout. While Ilkay Gundogan, Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling all scored their penalties, David Luis and Jorginho missed to ensure Chelsea finished on the losing side. However, the major talking point of the game came just before the penalty shootout started. Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga appeared to have gotten injured, prompting Sarri to prepare to initiate a change. However, the Spaniard signaled to the bench that he was fine. The 24-year-old went on to decline being substituted despite the insistence of his manager. Realising the goalkeeper didn’t want to be substituted, a furious Sarri ranted on the touchline and nearly walked into the dressing room.Arrizabalaga has since explained that there was a miscommunication with his manager. In the aftermath of the game, the goalkeeper said he did not mean to disobey Sarri. He told Chelsea's official website, as quoted by Sky Sports: "I know if you see it from outside, I don't know how it went out, it is not the best image. I have spoken with the boss. I think it was misunderstood."I understand that on television, on social media, they're talking about this but I am here to explain it, to say that it wasn't my intention to go against the manager," he added. But despite his explanation, many Chelsea fans took to Twitter to slam the goalkeeper for his behaviour. Here's a look at some of the most noteworthy tweets:if only we had John Terry today kepa would have know his level in our darlin club Chelsea pic.twitter.com/G7MbXjc9D4— God pls help Chelsea (@Gator_KofiRein) February 25, 2019The more I watch it the more I don’t buy the excuse of it being a misunderstanding. The amount of times I can lip read Zola saying “Kepa” & “Kepa Come on” If it was a misunderstanding it wouldn’t have dragged on. #cfc (@SkyFootball) pic.twitter.com/TMvgnQaiXL— CFC Daily (@CFCDaily) February 25, 2019Is it me or does anyone noticed that Kepa wasn't apologetic in the note he released after the match yesterday. He kept defending himself, calling it a misunderstanding when everyone knows it's not true. He personally had to go to Sarri to calm him down at full time but he didn't. pic.twitter.com/0flQ0D7S7G— Sarrismo™ (@Blue_Footy) February 25, 2019Kepa should be kicked out of the Chelsea side. But it will be Sarri who is kicked out and yet another manager will be forced out by player power. For too long Chelsea has been run by the players. Yes you've won titles but you've never built a consistent dynasty because of this— Mark Goldbridge (@markgoldbridge) February 24, 2019Disrespectful from @kepa_46.Humiliation for Sarri. pic.twitter.com/TLt437X2t2— Borak Bola (@borakbola) February 25, 2019State of the club. #sarri #kepa pic.twitter.com/xFtLwfiK4B— Chelsea Edits (@chelsea_edit) February 25, 2019Stupid pic.twitter.com/rMdjKxFXBC— vijay gulwani (@gulwanivijay) February 25, 2019Kepa should be benched forever my friends. pic.twitter.com/RpzYwDYBZi— HabibaNegm (@habibasameeh) February 24, 2019The behavior of Kepa should be tackled in general. Rule should be stricter on once substitution board is lifted, the player number in red is ineligible to play. Managers should not contact the player on the field if they don’t want to.If you see your number in red, you leave!— iKwame (@kboakye92) February 24, 2019No ‘misunderstanding’ in my opinion. Kepa is young & will learn from this but his disrespect to Sarri, the players & fans was unacceptable. Despite us playing Spurs next the club should suspend him. An example should be made. No one is bigger than the club. Embarrassing for all. pic.twitter.com/uAYwcAcSYP— Chris Wright 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (@chriswrightzz) February 24, 2019So Kepa could not keep his temper and disrespected Sarri 😙 pic.twitter.com/KrHAmvUlia— Aremeyaw (@IamYasco) February 24, 2019Azpilicueta is a massive fraud. Look at Zanetti here and the only thing we got from Chelsea’s captain about Kepa’s incident was “It’s not my problem” #CHEMCI pic.twitter.com/ayUXUdxC2X— kay (@wannyfelix) February 24, 2019Who thinks the same 🤔!a crab doesn’t give birth to a bird’’kepa didn’t go out because of stubbornness,,he was just imitating the stubbornness of his boss pic.twitter.com/W6tmgfkXrI— obed (@Elmundo43471136) February 24, 2019A true Chelsea fan giving handshakes to every Chelsea player except Kepa. #CFC pic.twitter.com/DZxG4q5K4J— The Blues (@TheBlues___) February 24, 2019
