Are Chelsea lining up a £30m bid for Gonzalo Higuain?

Gonzalo Higuain’s future at Napoli is under speculation with Chelsea reportedly interested in the striker

According to a report featured in The Guardian, Chelsea are preparing to make a £30m bid to Napoli for Gonzalo Higuain. Now that's someone I would love to see at Chelsea! A proven, natural goalscorer, the Argentinian striker has scored goals everywhere he has been and this season at Napoli under Rafa Benitez, scored 29 goals in 56 appearances, in total 53 goals in 102 appearances over two seasons.

Before Napoli, at Real Madrid Higuain wasn't always first choice to lead their attack but still weighed in with an impressive tally of 122 goals in just 264 appearances. He is a proven talent.

So what of the link to Chelsea considering Radamel Falcao has opened talks with the club to sign in the summer? Well, I would take Higuain over Falcao right now because we just don't know if the Colombian will rediscover his form after a dreadful season in Manchester.

With Rafa Benitez leaving Napoli, it will be interesting to see how many players follow him out of the door and I just wonder if Higuain fancies testing himself in the Premier League?

We had been linked with Higuain two seasons ago before he chose to move to Serie A and if there is real substance in this report and Jose Mourinho makes his move to sign him, I wonder if he would turn down a second opportunity to come to Chelsea?
