What's the story?

Chelsea's new striker, Gonzalo Higuain scored his first two goals for The Blues on Saturday against Huddersfield Town and revealed how Maurizio Sarri gets the best out of him on the pitch.

In case you didn't know...

Chelsea signed the Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain on loan for the remainder of the season with an option to buy him permanently for £31.3 million.

Gonzalo Higuain earlier played under the current Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri at Napoli and enjoyed great success with him. He scored 36 league goals during his solitary season under the Italian, which is an all-time record for most goals scored in a single Serie A season.

He left the Naples to join Juventus in 2016 but never managed to reach the same heights during his career again.

The heart of the matter

Speaking to the journalists in a post-match interview on Saturday, Higuain revealed that:

"Maurizio Sarri is the coach who, in my career, has got the best out of me as a player. "He’s someone who knew how to work with me, particularly on the emotional side.

The Argentine added:

"That was a wonderful season and one in which I broke the goalscoring record, which is very important out there. It was a fantastic year for myself and Maurizio, and a period which we shared together, even though it was a short time.
"I want to get back to that level. I think everything is set on the right path to achieve our goals by the end of the season."

What's next?

Chelsea will play Manchester City next in the league before making a trip to Sweden to play Malmo FF for the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 32.
