What's the news?

N'Golo Kante reveals that there was a sense of disappointment in the Chelsea dressing room after the 6-0 thrashing by Manchester City.

In case you didn't know...

Manchester City handed Chelsea its worst ever Premier League defeat on Sunday as a Sergio Aguero hat trick led Pep Guardiola's team to a 6-0 win.

The Blues looked clueless against the defending champions and were completely outclassed by Manchester City. They have now slipped to sixth place in the Premier League table, 15 points behind the leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea are yet to win away from home this year and have lost three out of their last four Premier League games.

The heart of the matter

N'Golo Kante told the club’s website that disappointment etched all across his teammate's faces after an embarrassing display against Manchester City.

He said: "It’s difficult to explain. ‘They outclassed us. It was a collective failing."

"They outclassed us from the first minute to the last minute, and they made the difference in the first minutes of the first half. It was very difficult to come back from that."

He further elaborated: "It’s a great disappointment and we have to react. It’s difficult to accept such a heavy defeat, but we have a lot of matches coming up to lift our heads and give us hope for good results at the end of this season".

"We all have disappointment etched across our faces. But we’ve got a lot to learn from this, and hopefully, we will not repeat the same mistakes in the future."

What's next?

Chelsea will play Malmo FF in the Europa League next before squaring off against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup.
