What’s the story?

Oscar has confirmed that he wants to return to Chelsea one day. He was talking to PL Brasil when he revealed that he wishes to re-join The Blues in the coming years.

When asked if he wanted to head back to the Premier League, Oscar replied:

Yes, I would go back! I'm still young, I'm 26 years old. Who knows in two, three years to return to the Premier League, I will be very happy. And preferably for Chelsea, who [should] open the doors for me to return.

Just 10 months into his time in the Chinese Super League, the Brazilian is already planning his next move.

In case you didn’t know...

Oscar signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2012 following after an impressive display at the Olympics. He was unable to live up to the expectations at Stamford Bridge and despite a stunning partnership with Juan Mata and Eden Hazard, he just couldn't consolidate his position in the team.

Antonio Conte deemed him as surplus to requirements around a year ago and he was sold to Shanghai SIPG for a whopping £60 million in January 2017. He was linked with a move to Inter Milan as well in the summer but the Chinese side were reluctant to sell him.

The heart of the matter

Oscar has revealed that he regrets moving to the China and is looking to move back to Europe. The Brazilian also went to reveal that he rejected moves to Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Inter Milan, and AC Milan despite holding talks with them before he joined Shanghai SIPG.

The midfielder has opened the door for a possible return to Chelsea and has said that he would jump on the chance if The Blues' are willing to sign him again.

What’s next?

While Oscar might be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge again, Chelsea might not be interested in the midfielder. They have 'moved on' from him and there is no chance of him replacing anyone in the current Chelsea XI.

Author’s Take

It's sad that Oscar is regretting his move to Chinese Super League but he had to think of all the things before making the move. It looks like he only thought of it from the financial prospect and opted to join Shanghai SIPG.
