Gliding past

Chelsea's best left back in the Roman era, Ashley Cole was a vital part of the Chelsea team that won the Champions League in 2012. He scored the fourth penalty that put Chelsea level on terms in the shootout.

Ashley Cole's contract at the club expired a year later, and he moved to AS Roma. He didn't enjoy spell at the Italian side, and he terminated his contract and left for the MLS.

He is still at LA Galaxy and is continuing to be a part of the starting 11. Rumours suggest he'll be retiring at the end of next season. However, there is no confirmation from Ashley Cole on this.

In Russia now

The Serbian right back was one of the main reasons for Chelsea to lift the champions league in 2012. He too was not a part of the final because of a suspension but his contribution in the knockout stages will be remembered by the Chelsea faithful for a very long time.

He scored the goal in extra time that got Chelsea into the last 8 of the competition. That goal completed Chelsea who won comeback against Napoli.

However, things weren't good for the right back at Chelsea for a long time. He was an influential part in Jose Mourinho's 3rd title win at Chelsea, but the next season, his form dipped very badly, and fans turned against him. Finally, in January 2017 he was sold to Zenit Saint Petersburg, and now continues to play for them regularly.Petersburg, and now continues to play for them regularly.
