Mario Mandzukic is poised to leave Bayern Munich after just two years with the Bundesliga champions, writes the Sunday Express.

Chelsea have been monitoring Mandzukic closely but will have to fend off competition from the Serie A, with Inter Milan said to be working on a deal to bring the 28-year-old to the San Siro.

Arsenal have also been linked with the Croatian centre-forward, as they look to buttress a forward line that contains only one senior striker in Olivier Giroud.

When questioned on Mandzukic’s future, the Munich player’s agent, Ivan Cvjetkovic, teased that there could be new information on the subject next week.

“For the time being there has been no contact with Inter, the same goes for all clubs in the Italian, Spanish and German leagues,” Cvjetkovic told calciomercato.com.

“Are we interested in going to Inter? At the moment, I can’t give you any answers.

“However, there could be some new developments this coming Wednesday or Thursday.”

Despite his team failing to qualify for the knockout stages of the World Cup, Mandzukic put in some good performances for Croatia in their group campaign. The former Dinamo Zagreb hitman scored in both the games he featured in a 4-0 drubbing of Mexico and a tournament-ending 3-1 defeat to Mexico.
