#3 Rodrygo Goes (Real Madrid)

Rodrygo Goes is not first-choice at Real Madrid but at 20-years-old, he has already proven that he has a lot to offer from the wings. Despite making just 22 appearances in La Liga, of which only 10 were starts, Rodrygo was arguably Los Blancos' best winger this season.

He has scored a goal and provided six assists in the league this term and his technical abilities have earned him plenty of praise. But the Real Madrid winger has been left out of Brazil's squad for the Copa America.

His teammate Vinicius Jr. has earned a call-up. Everton Soares is another player who is expected to operate on the wings. But it remains to be seen how much of those two we will end up seeing as Neymar Jr. is Brazil's first-choice in the position.

#2 Fernandinho (Manchester City)

Manchester City midfield lynchpin Fernandinho is yet another big name that's missing from Brazil's squad for the Copa America. Despite being 36-years-old, he continues to be one of the best destroyers in the Premier League.

However, he has been used sparingly by Pep Guardiola following the arrival of Rodri. Fernandinho made only 21 appearances in the Premier League this term and started just 12 matches. That could be one of the main reasons why he has not made the list for Brazil this time around.

Manchester City missed Fernandinho dearly in the Champions League final as Pep Guardiola's decision to overload attackers in his starting XI misfired. Brazil could have certainly used Fernandinho's experience but in Casemiro and Fabinho, they have great alternatives.

#1 Arthur Melo (Juventus)

Barcelona's decision to swap a young and promising Arthur Melo for an ageing Miralem Pjanic in the summer of 2020 came as a surprise to many. It has proved to be a move that has not been beneficial to any of the parties involved.

While Pjanic has gone from being Juventus' creator-in-chief to being a peripheral figure at Barcelona, Arthur has struggled to hit his stride at Juventus. The Bianconeri midfield has come under a lot of criticism this term and Arthur certainly did not do enough to make a strong case for himself.

The 24-year-old was mostly used as a substitute in the closing stages of the season as he failed to make much of an impression in his debut season in Turin. Lucas Paqueta of Lyon and Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa have been chosen over him as both have featured extensively for their sides this term.
