Cristiano Ronaldo News: Juventus star bought mobiles for Real Madrid staff, reveals Kaka
What’s the story?
Cristiano Ronaldo may have left Real Madrid under a cloud, but it appears the Portuguese’s impact at the club transcended just scoring goals and helping the team win trophies. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was once a teammate of Ricardo Kaka and the Brazilian has disclosed some of the generous things Ronaldo used to do behind the scenes.
In case you didn’t know…
Ronaldo joined Real Madrid from Manchester United in the summer of 2009 and played for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit for nine years, before joining Juventus last summer.
At Madrid, the 33-year-old won a host of trophies, including LaLiga, Copa del Rey, four Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, amongst other major titles.
The former Man United star also took his game to a different level, adding four more Ballon d’Ors to his personal achievements. Ronaldo played together with fellow Ballon d’Or winner Kaka at Madrid, although the former was never a regular feature the team.
The heart of the matter
Kaka has fond memories of his time with Ronaldo and has revealed that the Portuguese once bought 15 mobile phones for all the Real Madrid staff.
According to him, Ronaldo was always open to everyone and behaved well in the dressing room.
Kaka told SporTV, as quoted by Fox Sports, "Cristiano is not only a champion but also a great person," he told SporTV in an in-depth interview. He was always attentive, thoughtful and available to everyone in the dressing room. Okay, maybe he was a little vain... but he always behaved well."
"He helped me a lot, even supporting me during interviews. Once when we were at a training camp in Los Angeles, he made sure to get 15 mobile phones and gave them to all the staff. I never had any problems with him like any of my teammates," he added.
Ronaldo is known to be a beast on the pitch but not many people can tell how he relates in his private life. However, Kaka’s revelation could go a long way to change the perception that many have of the Portuguese.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old is currently enjoying his football at Juventus and will definitely be looking forward to winning the Serie A title, as well as the top-scorer award.
