Cristiano Ronaldo news: Portuguese star teases future club after Juventus
What's the story?
Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has recently teased fans about his future plans, even dropping the name of the club that may be a destination for him should he leave the Serie A outfit.
In case you didn't know...
Throughout his career, Ronaldo has tested the waters in different European leagues and has been successful in all of them. The Portuguese ace has won a host of titles in the Premier League and La Liga and is now set to replicate the same in the Serie A.
The 33-year-old severed ties with Real Madrid after nine long years with the club to join Juventus last summer. Since then, he has made 19 appearances for the Old Lady, in which he has scored 14 goals.
Despite having left the European champions last summer, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner finished 2018 as the Los Blancos outfit's top scorer and Juventus' second highest goal-scorer.
The heart of the matter
Although it is too early to be speaking about his departure from Juventus, the man himself has hinted at a move away some day.
When asked if he would return to former club Sporting, he told Football Italia, "Will I go back to Sporting like Nani? In football you never know... It was the right decision to leave the national momentarily, but I’ll be back in 2019."
The former Manchester United star kicked off his senior career at Sporting in 2002, making 25 appearances for the club.
Whether the Juventus star will return to his boyhood club in his home country to see out the end of his career is yet to be ascertained considering he has only just begun his exploits in Italy.
Juventus comfortably sit at the top of the Serie A table with 53 points, their closest rival being Napoli with 44 points.
The table-toppers will next face Bologna in a Coppa Italia game on January 13.
