Nemanja Matic could be vital for Chelsea’s title charge

Nemanja Matic’s signing from Benfica led to a number of pundits raising doubts over the player’s quality. However, the defensive midfielder went on to prove his critics wrong by emerging as on the best players in Mourinho’s title-winning Chelsea F.C team.

After a disappointing first half with Mourinho last season, the midfielder found himself in and out of the team under interim manager Guus Hiddink. However, new manager Antonio Conte has fought off interest from both Juventus and Real Madrid, to keep the midfielder who has started all the games for Chelsea this season.

His composure is back and Matic looks like he is back to his best under Conte.
